Ben Lee
Co-President
Ever since elementary school, Ben always found math incredibly frustrating and demoralizing. However, his 8th-grade math teacher taught him how he could use probability to win card games. Since then, he has seen how math is used everywhere. He hopes that through 3131, we can bring back that same love of math that his teacher had fostered in him by showing kids real-world applications for math and fun activities with it.
Claire Casey
Co-President, Co-Founder
From the beginning of elementary school, Claire's love for reading and writing steered her toward the humanities and away from STEM subjects. But her sophomore year math teacher taught her how fun math can be with games and class competitions. With 3131, she wants to use new approaches to teaching to help kids avoid falling into the same trap she did so they can realize their love for math as early as possible.

Henry McNamara
Co-Founder
Henry has enjoyed math for as far back as he can remember. But he didn't love it until he joined an after school program that used math in fun projects and games. This program sparked his love for math and introduced a new curiosity and passion for competitive math that still remains central to his life. With 3131, he hopes instill this love of math into the minds of the next generation, teaching them that math is not only lectures and worksheets, but a world bound by the limits of human imagination.
Alex Ninomiya
Co-Founder
Alex has always enjoyed math. The definitive solutions and clear-cut answers instantly clicked with him. He assumed that his classmates felt the same, but as he progressed through school, he began to see math emerge as the most universally hated subject among them. He felt the negative atmosphere begin to suffocate the learning environment around him. With 3131, he hopes to steer young students away from that hatred and show them that math is a universal language that they shouldn't despise.
